DESCRIPTION:Christopher Lamb\, CNN Vatican Correspondent\, former Vatican Correspondent for the Tablet and author of a new book\, American Hope: What Pope Leo XIV means for the Church and the World\, will deliver the Catholic Union’s next pub talk on Monday 11 May.  Chaired by Catherine Pepinster\, journalist\, the event will be open to all but booking is essential. \nChristopher Lamb is CNN’s Vatican Correspondent. He covered the funeral of Pope Francis and the conclave that elected Pope Leo XIV and has been a journalist for two decades.  His first book\, The Outsider\, lifted a lid on the resistance Pope Francis faced in his battle to reform the Catholic Church. \nPlease book your place at the pub talk on Monday 11 May at 6.30 pm at the Brass Monkey\, Victoria. There will be an opportunity to buy a copy of Chris’ book at the event.

SUMMARY:Catholic Union's Summer Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Members of the Catholic Union are invited to the Catholic Union’s annual Summer Gathering at Buckfast Abbey on Saturday 11 July. \nThe day will include an introduction given by Rt Rev Nicholas Hudson\, Bishop of Plymouth and Ecclesiastical Adviser to the Catholic Union\, and Mass in the Abbey. We are also very fortunate to have the opportunity of a talk by Abbot David Charlesworth OSB and we will hear from a Catholic member of the House of Lords. \nThe Summer Gathering is an opportunity for members and their guests to come together in convivial surroundings at a place of special interest and devotion.  The day will close at 4.00pm when we will be able to enjoy the ever popular Fauré Requiem in the Abbey sung by the Choristers. \nOnce again\, we have managed to keep the price low at £30 per person and are immensely grateful for the generous sponsorship by one of our Benefactors.
