The Catholic Union were in Downing Street this week for meetings with some of the new team in No 10.
Catholic Union Director, Nigel Parker, and Deputy Director, James Somerville-Meikle, met Senior Special Advisers to talk about matters of concern to Catholics in this country.
Nigel and James stressed the contribution of Catholics to society, and the need for people of all faiths to be able to act in accordance with their conscience.
Among the topics discussed were freedom of speech, migration policy, and pressures faced by Catholics in the workplace.
This builds on the Catholic Union’s role of being a strong voice for the Catholic laity in this country and promoting Catholic Social Teaching in the public sphere.
