Notice of AGM

Dear members,

The next Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Catholic Union will be held in person on Tuesday 15th October 2024 at 18.45 at the London Jesuit Centre, 114 Mount Street, London W1K 3AY.  The meeting will be addressed by our President the Baroness Hollins and other speakers and will be followed by a Drinks and Canapés reception. Please register your attendance on Eventbrite.

The other formal business will be to receive the annual financial statements, to appoint the independent examiner of the next financial statements, to approve Vice Presidents proposed by the Council and to hold elections to the Council, if required. Requests for proxy forms must reach the office by Tuesday 24 September 2024 (3 weeks prior to the AGM).

Elections will be held to reappoint or replace the following elected Council members whose terms expire routinely at this year’s AGM:

Ms Andrea Speranza, who is eligible for re-election

Dr Wojtek Rakowicz PhD (Cantab) FRCP, who is eligible for re-election

Dr Caroline Healy BSc(Econ) MA PhD.

Nomination forms and guidance notes may be obtained by contacting the office on [email protected] or 020 8749 1321.  Any member of the Union who has not served nine years on the Council without a two year gap is eligible, with his or her consent, for nomination as a candidate for membership of the Council and must be proposed and seconded by named members of the Union.

The Catholic Union has a number of committees covering public affairs, membership and fundraising, education and medical ethics. Anyone interested in getting more involved in the work of the Catholic Union, for example by joining a committee, is invited to contact the Director (Tristan Feunteun) in the first instance on [email protected]
These committees are the normal route onto the Council.

Please note that completed nomination forms must be returned to the Secretary by Tuesday 3 September 2024 (6 weeks prior to the AGM).
