Another rollercoaster of a week in terms of British politics leaving a great sense of uncertainty. While politicians and political parties wrestle over power and purpose it is important not to lose sight of other news. This week saw the publication of the long-awaited Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. The Church has been much criticised and it needs to show that it has learned from its mistakes. We look forward to hearing from Baroness Hollins at the Craigmyle Lecture next month on this subject keeping children and vulnerable adults safe – insights from the Vatican. While the political deckchairs are rearranged we would do well to dwell on the three ideas that Pope Francis shared this week with a group of entrepreneurs that he believes are vital to consider: to be prophets; work on your spiritual health and to do everything with love.
