Thomas More Circle

Members of the Catholic Union’s St Thomas More Circle were invited to a special Mass and Reception last week at St Mary’s Cadogan Street, Chelsea.

Father Shaun Middleton, Parish Priest at St Mary’s, celebrated Mass.  The choir from St Joseph’s Primary School sang The Lord is My Shepherd which was beautiful and our thanks to Mr Stacey, Headmaster of St Joseph’s and Ms Wiles, music teacher, for all their efforts.

After Mass there was a reception in the parish garden by kind permission of Father Shaun.  Members of the Thomas More Circle heard from Cllr Robert Rigby who gave a fascinating insight into his year as Lord Mayor of Westminster. Robert, a past Chairman of the Catholic Union, championed Catholic charities and causes throughout his tenure and has established many links that will remain for many years to come.

Baroness Hollins, President of the Catholic Union, spoke about the role of the Catholic Union and how important it was for lay Catholics to have a voice in the public square.

Proceedings ended with Michael Pritchett being presented with a Papal Blessing for his long standing services as secretary to the Catholic Union of Great Britain.
