A Talent for Giving

Join author, philanthropist and thought leader John Studzinski in conversation with Catherine Pepinster at 6.00pm on Monday 9 March in Victoria. Booking is essential.

Baroness Hollins, President of the Catholic Union says:The Catholic Union aims to champion engagement by Catholics for the Common Good. It will be fascinating to hear John’s thoughts on how we can create a more generous society that benefits everyone including those on the margins”.

John’s experience in both global business leadership and philanthropy is anchored in his belief in the primacy of human dignity. His commitment to philanthropy has found expression in the context of prestigious global institutions and of start-up organisations. The charity he established in 2001, the Genesis Foundation, supports and nurtures outstanding artists and creative professionals, and as Founding President of Arise, established in 2015, he furthers frontline anti-slavery work on four continents. He is also Vice-Chair Emeritus of Human Rights Watch.

Catherine Pepinster, journalist, says: “John is adamant that philanthropy isn’t just about wealth – it’s about creativity, passion, and using your unique talents to contribute to what you believe in.  I am looking forward to discussing how this can be harnessed in today’s world”.

John’s book, A Talent for Giving was published in September 2025 by Bloomsbury. Please register your interest here.
