AI, the Future of Work and Human Agency

21 May @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Parliamentarians have been invited to attend an informal discussion around AI, the Future of Work and Human Agency on Thursday 21 May at 3.00pm.  Matthew Harvey Sanders, a leading thinker and practitioner in ethical AI, whose company created Magisterium AI, a large language model trained exclusively on official Church documents and ancient manuscripts, will be the guest speaker. The discussion will be hosted by Lord Glasman.

Run by Together for the Common Good in partnership with the Catholic Union, it will be an informal session for MPs and Peers to ask questions and discuss practical implications in a relaxed setting. Topics may include how AI will reshape the future of work, the safeguarding of human agency, conscience and moral discernment, as well as opportunities and risks viewed through the lens of human dignity and the common good.

Sanders is in the UK to give a public lecture as part of Together for the Common Good’s Staying Human series on the previous evening: Staying Human: AI, the Future of Work, and Christian Discernment is being live-streamed on Wednesday 20 May at 6.30pm. All are welcome to join online.
